Match report: How Slovan Liberec won in Brno

First half: VAR intervention and a goalless opening period

The match began at a high tempo, with both teams looking to create attacking opportunities. Slovan Liberec captain Tomáš Koubek led the visitors, who wore their black kit, while Zbrojovka Brno played in their traditional red-and-white colours.

One of the most significant moments came in the 10th minute. Filip Vedral was initially shown a red card following a challenge on Lukáš Mašek. After a VAR review, referee Lukáš Nehasil overturned the decision, allowing the Brno defender to remain on the pitch.

The match continued to be competitive, with Slovan looking to build attacks and Zbrojovka threatening on the counter. In the 29th minute, Antonín Vaníček tested Koubek with a powerful volley, but the Slovan goalkeeper dealt with the attempt.

The visitors also created opportunities through Patrik Dulay and Milan Lexa, but neither side managed to score before half-time. The teams went into the break with the score at 0–0.

Second half: Patrik Dulay breaks the deadlock

The second half continued in the same competitive fashion. Both teams worked hard to find space, but clear chances were difficult to convert.

The decisive moment arrived in the 61st minute. Following a long throw-in, Lukáš Mašek connected with a header that struck the goal frame. The rebound fell to Patrik Dulay, who reacted quickly and finished to give Slovan Liberec a 1–0 lead.

Dulay nearly added another goal shortly afterwards. After a pass from Milan Lexa, he found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Adam Hrdina, but the Brno goalkeeper made the save.

Zbrojovka pushed forward in search of an equaliser, while Slovan attempted to exploit the spaces left by the home side. The closing stages were tense, with several bookings and further attacking opportunities.

In stoppage time, Vénuste Baboula had a chance to put the game beyond doubt but was unable to beat Hrdina.

The final whistle confirmed a hard-fought 1–0 away win for FC Slovan Liberec, with Patrik Dulay’s 61st-minute goal proving decisive.
