Slovan Liberec suffer a frustrating home defeat against Slovácko

FC Slovan Liberec suffered a 2–0 home defeat against 1. FC Slovácko on Sunday, 11 October 2026, in the 10th round of the 2026/27 Chance Liga season. Goals from Marek Havlík and Pavel Juroška secured the visitors’ victory at Stadion U Nisy in Liberec, where 3,078 spectators watched a disappointing afternoon for the home side.

Slovan struggled to turn its attacking pressure into goals, while Slovácko proved clinical in front of goal. The visitors opened the scoring in the first half and later received a red card, leaving them with ten players for the closing stages.

Despite having a numerical advantage, Slovan could not find a way past goalkeeper Milan Heča. Juroška then scored a second goal in the final minute to confirm Slovácko’s victory.

The result was a frustrating setback for Slovan, especially after a promising start to the season and a match in which the team created opportunities but failed to convert them.

Match report: How Slovácko won in Liberec

First half: Marek Havlík gives Slovácko the lead

Slovan Liberec looked to take control early, but Slovácko remained organised and waited for opportunities to exploit mistakes in the home defence.

The breakthrough arrived in the 14th minute. David Puškáč supplied the assist, and Marek Havlík found space inside the penalty area to finish and give Slovácko a 1–0 advantage.

The early goal changed the character of the match. Slovan had to chase an equaliser, while the visitors could concentrate on maintaining their defensive structure and looking for opportunities on the counterattack.

The first half also saw bookings for Slovácko players Andrej Stojčevski and Jocelin Behiratche, as the contest became increasingly physical.

Slovan went into the interval trailing by one goal, with plenty of work still to do in the second half.

Second half: Slovan fail to take advantage of the red card

Slovan made a change at half-time, introducing Matěj Mikulenka in place of Lukáš Masopust as the home side looked for a different attacking approach.

The hosts continued to search for an equaliser, but Slovácko remained dangerous and competitive. The decisive disciplinary incident came in the 61st minute, when David Puškáč was sent off for a foul on Alexandr Bužek.

The red card gave Slovan a numerical advantage for the remainder of the match. The home side introduced additional attacking options, including Josef Koželuh, Joel Ashuku, Aleko Basiladze, Daniel Rus and Vojtěch Stránský.

Slovan pushed forward and created promising situations, but goalkeeper Milan Heča and the Slovácko defence prevented the hosts from finding the net. Vasil Kušej, who played the full match, remained involved in the home side’s attacking efforts.

The longer the match continued without an equaliser, the more difficult the task became for Slovan.

90th minute: Pavel Juroška seals the victory

Slovan’s hopes of rescuing a point ended in the 90th minute. Goalkeeper Milan Heča launched the ball forward, creating an opportunity for Pavel Juroška to break away.

Juroška advanced towards Tomáš Koubek and finished beneath the Slovan goalkeeper to make it 2–0.

The goal settled the contest and completed a highly effective away performance from Slovácko. Despite playing with ten men for much of the second half, the visitors left Liberec with all three points.

For Slovan, the final score was a bitter disappointment: the team could not score even with a numerical advantage and conceded a second goal at the end.

Match statistics and performance
